Medicare Compliance Review of Norton Healthcare, Inc., for the Period January 1, 2011, Through June 30, 2012

Norton Healthcare (the Hospital), located in Kentucky, complied with Medicare billing requirements for 166 of the 230 inpatient and outpatient claims we reviewed. However, the Hospital did not fully comply with Medicare billing requirements for the remaining 64 claims, resulting in overpayments of $386,000. On the basis of our sample results, we estimated that the Hospital received more than $3 million in overpayments from Medicare.
