Office of Human Concern, Inc., Claimed Allowable Costs Under a Recovery Act Grant

We reviewed $93,000 of the $501,000 in Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Recovery Act costs that the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Office of Community Services, claimed on behalf of Office of Human Concern (Agency) and determined that the reviewed costs were allowable under the terms of the grant and applicable Federal requirements. However, the Agency did not obtain bids on the purchase of two vehicles, each of which cost between $5,000 and $25,000.

Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, P.L. No. 111-5, enacted February 17, 2009, the Administration for Children and Families received an additional $1 billion for the CSBG program for States to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty in communities.
