Rebates for Medicaid Physician-Administered and Pharmacy Drug Claims

States are generally required to collect manufacturer rebates on physician-administered and pharmacy drugs in order to receive Federal matching funds for those drugs. Previous OIG work identified significant concerns with States' efforts in obtaining rebates for physician-administered drug claims. We will follow up with select States to determine whether States have implemented controls to ensure ongoing compliance with Federal Medicaid drug rebate requirements.
