Dr. Nathan Hanflink and Pain Management Institute Agreed to Be Excluded for 5 Years for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting Claims for Chronic Care Management Services Not Rendered

On April 30, 2026, Nathan Hanflink, DO (Dr. Hanflink) and Pain Management Institute LLC (PMI), Florida, each agreed to be excluded for a period of five years under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7). OIG's investigation revealed and OIG alleged that Dr. Hanflink and PMI knowingly presented claims to Medicare Part B for chronic care management services using CPT codes 99490, 99439, 99487, and 99489 that they did not render.
