Hartgrove Behavioral Health System Agreed to Pay $735,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Employing an Individual Excluded from Illinois Medicaid

After they disclosed conduct to OIG pursuant to their CIA, Hartgrove Behavioral Health System (HBHS), Illinois, agreed to pay $735,671.64 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that HBHS employed an individual that it knew or should have known was excluded from participation in the Illinois state Medicaid program and that no Illinois state Medicaid program payments could be made for items or services the individual furnished.
