University of Missouri – Columbia Agreed to Pay $121,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Submitting False Claims to an NIH Funded Grant

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, the University of Missouri – Columbia (MU), Columbia, Missouri, entered into a $121,600.50 settlement agreement with OIG. The settlement agreement resolves allegations that a former Principal Investigator and the former Director of Operations for MU’s Molecular Imaging Theragnostic Center submitted claims to NIH award R21AG083663 that were improper because they were for services not performed, time not expended, or items that were otherwise not allowable or allocable to the NIH award.
