Peggy Borgfeld Agreed to Be Excluded for Five Years for Allegedly Submitting False Claims and Paying Improper Remuneration
On September 22, 2023, in connection with the resolution of her False Claims Act liability, Peggy Borgfeld, Lexington, Texas, agreed to be excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7(b)(7) for five years. The investigation revealed and OIG alleged that Peggy Borgfeld knowingly submitted or caused to be submitted false claims to the Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE programs, and participated in a scheme to pay improper remuneration in exchange for the referral of laboratory tests.
