PillPack Agreed to Pay $646,000 for Allegedly Violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by Paying Improper Remuneration and Submitting Claims for Prescriptions in Excess of Amounts Prescribed

After it self-disclosed conduct to OIG, PillPack LLC (PillPack), headquartered in New Hampshire, agreed to pay $646,096.06 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. OIG alleged that PillPack waived copayments by accepting and honoring pharmaceutical manufacturers’ copayment coupons and other copayment assistance programs for Federal health care payers. OIG further alleged that PillPack provided prescription drugs exceeding the prescribed amount in certain circumstances and billed Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE for those prescription drugs.
